Two beech

A friend got in touch to say he’d found a letter I wrote to him 17 years ago. Amongst other things, I was dreaming of tending trees in the future.

That plan has at least partly come to fruition. I planted these beech trees six years ago and they’re coming along nicely now. I love how they hold onto their leaves in the winter. Looking forward to planting more trees this winter.

Amongst the leaves

November hazel

I’ve been keeping an eye on the blue tit’s nest, in the box outside our back door, for a while.

The chicks were big enough for a photo today.

Hawthorn blossom

Lovely sunny evening here. Not so much in Skibbereen by the looks of it…
